If Valve revealed a Half-Life 2 sequel, what would it look like?
This is my attempt at imagining exactly that, a 3 minutes long trailer where we
get to pay a visit to the Combine in their own world, and some more...
Almost every asset in this animation was handcrafted from scratch. Exceptions: (G-man, Dr. Breen Face mesh, Human base topology)
All other assets, models, rigs, animations and even textures were created from scratch in blender for this project specifically.
The tree models the bear and other assets that could be found online for free have been sculpted/modeled/textured from scratch mostly for practice reasons.
3D meshes were modeled and sculpted, rigs and animations are custom for each character and moving structure. Textures are a mixture of procedural noises (that come with Blender) and hand painted.
For smoke simulations I used Embergen since Blender is a bit too slow for my taste.
